Becoming a Member of Torchbearers

As Torchbearers, we recognize that our presence in the community is only as strong as our membership. We strive to recruit members dedicated to the Greater Akron community and to the core values of our organization.

The Torchbearers Class of 2012 has already been selected. Please check back in the spring for the Class of 2013 member application.

Why become a member?

As a Torchbearer, you will have the opportunity to:

• Network with other young leaders who live and work in Akron and share your enthuaism for the Greater Akron Community
• Enhance your leadership skills through participation in a variety of Leadership Training Seminars developed in collaboration with Leadership Akron
• Support your community through numerous volunteer service projects
• Meet community leaders through interactive presentations throughout the year and the annual Torchbearers community leaders' reception.

Am I eligible?

Potential Torchbearers must:

• Agree to attend regular membership meetings and a number of required leadership training classes (see application for details)
• Demonstrate a long-term commitment to the Greater Akron community
• Pay annual dues of $250 per year
• Be 39 years of age or younger at the time of application
