As Torchbearers, we recognize that our presence in the community is only as strong as our membership. We strive to recruit members dedicated to the Greater Akron community and to the core values of our organization.

Torchbearers is currently accepting applications for the Class of 2014. Applicants must complete the online application and subsequent interview. Applications for the Class of 2014 must be completed and submitted by 5:00pm EST on July 31, 2013 to be considered for membership. As a Torchbearer, you will have the opportunity to:

• Network with other young leaders who live and work in Akron and share your enthuaism for the Greater Akron Community
• Enhance your leadership skills through participation in a variety of Leadership Training Seminars developed in collaboration with Leadership Akron
• Support your community through numerous volunteer service projects
• Meet community leaders through interactive presentations throughout the year and the annual Torchbearers community leaders' reception.

Am I eligible?

Potential Torchbearers must:

• Agree to attend regular membership meetings and a number of required leadership training classes (see application for details)
• Demonstrate a long-term commitment to the Greater Akron community
• Pay annual dues of $250 per year
• Be at least 25 years of age and under 39 years of age at the time of application
